Default Toyota Starlet

We have a Toyota Starlet in Denmark, which we leave until we go for the summer.....

the good news is that the roads there are AMAZING to drive on, hills, curves... there isn't a straight road in all of Denmark......

the Bad news is that the Starlet's springs and struts are shot, it bounces around too much, even though the rest of the car is pristine....

I know we dont have the starlet here, but its a 2dr hatch and looks like a Tercel (a box version... probably a late 80's or early 90's model)

But would springs/struts from a tercel fit on the Starlet?

Any info, advice, criticism would be great...

sign on to celicatech.com and ask "conrad_turbo" in the forced induction forum. He has a turbo starlet that he autocrosses. He can answer any questions you have about your car.

could you ask him if the suspension..(shocks, struts, swaybars) are the same as in the tercel or Corolla? or are they specific to the Starlet?

I think your best bet would be to source Japanese parts.

The guy galcrazi is referring to that has a Turbo starlet is actually one of the earlier, rear wheel drive models. That probably won't relate too much to your car.

I'm willing to bet you COULD use Tercel parts, since I'm pretty sure they share the same suspension design.

My advice to you would be to get a set of coilovers, made to fit a Japenese Starlet, or, call up various companies (Tein, JIC, etc.) and ask them about how much it would be to get Starle parts.
