I have a Mr2 turbo and a knocking noise just recently appeared the diagnostic codes come up as a STA Indicator and circulation pressure supply(?) what the hell is that?

Well it only knocked once drove it back to the house parked it for the night then started it back up in the morning and it was fine hasn't knocked since but now around 5k rpm a complete power loss happens to the car. I was reading this article and it said that "when accelerating the engine knocks (/pinks) and this is being detected by the engine knock sensor. In order to protect the engine the ECU retards the timing until no more knocking is detected. If the ECU is still detecting knocking at this point, it may go one step further and close the turbo VSV, to limit the boost to a lower, safer, value."
Also "The only cure is to retard the spark timing at the distributor: In my case, it had to be moved to 5 degrees BTDC, and the car will run 95 Octane unleaded, at the expense of a little top end power and affect cold engine performance."
In that peice I was reading it says that you can feel it at around 5k rpm and thats exactly when you feel the car just drop off in power

The thing they are talking about is detonation. I highly doubt it is anything like that. First thing, inspect all of your intercooler hoses. Take them off, inspect them for cuts, cracks, or slits. Your engine has an AFM (Air Flow Meter). If the air that the AFM meters, does not enter the engine, the engine will run like dog shit. This means that when you take it to that RPM of 5k the IC hoses might be expanding and leaking the air. Sometimes this will cause the engine to shutter. I have experienced that personally. The sound that you are hearing, is it more of a click, or is it a knock? Knock is a pretty harsh term when it comes to engine noise. If it's a clicking sound you hear, you may want to check the exhaust manifold, you may have a leak there. From what you described, you may actually have a combination of the two.
I thought it might have been that the timing at the distributor was off so i checked that and it was off a little bit so I fixed that it runs a little better now but I still have that hesitation under boost but I'll try checking out the intercooler piping and stuff like you said.
