I'd be just getting rid of the extremely heavy stuff that doesnt matter and is easily replaced. Drivers power seats are about 70-80 lbs, spare tire and jack are 50, rear seats are useless.

Overall, if I was as crazy aboot weight savings as I used to be, I'd be searching high and low for a MkII

 

hey dude i live in sarasota and am on srq racing there was a mkIII in auto trader down here for 3500 obo if its still in there i might be able to talk him down its really clean to i went and saw it possibly for spare parts for my car you should come out saturday night some time man im there almost every time take a look it might still be there man

for the record taking out the back seats is ABSOFUCKINGLUTELY POINTLESS....for weight savings at least... they weigh like 5lbs at most....

anyways targa owns hardtop unless the car is for racing ONLY...meaning not a daily driver or a cruiser.... there is an 80lb difference big freaking deal....

besides...its easier for a girl to get on top with the targa off

As far as weight savings, thats a healthy amount. Spare tire (fullsize, in yo face MkIV owners...) is 40 lbs, so thats easy weight to get rid of (...which makes my point nul! Ha...). Drivers power seat also weighs about that much, and its cracked and leather anyways (heavy cloth guy here) so theres some more poundage out. Radio is going too, since I can sell those useless parts for cash.

What makes you think I ever have or will have a g/f, let alone fucking in the car?! If I were lucky enough to get some (single, not looking) then it'd be in a bed, not all over my fuckin car!!

Overall yeah I suppose I'm picky, but with how many MkIIIs sold (Fla was the 2nd most sold MkIIIs) I think I'll be okay. Why should I settle for anything less than 100%? At least color and interior doesnt matter for me. (Burgandy sucks the cock though). It'd just be too much work otherwise to do all that I'd want (5spd and turbo swap)
