Default New Grapefruit shooter!!

GReddy wasn't mating up to the Aussie pipe do to the fact that Aussie makes one pipe that is supposed to fit the mr2 and celica. I think the fitment is not perfect because of this. The GReddy was about 1/2" to 3/4" off it's mark. So I commissioned my buddy Steve to weld a flex section into the b-pipe. He went a step further and made a beautiful section betwen the downpipe and the last bend on the b-pipe. I give him props because it turned out perfect and he came through in a pinch!

My previous setup was the Hux 2.5" downpipe and SARD Turbo exhaust which starts. I made 277whp and 312 ft/lbs tq on it. I could not hold 20psi to redline, it basically tapered back down to 15-16psi. Which you can see in my dyno graph. I figured I had too much back pressure. I first installed the Aussie, and already noticed better results. At the same settings on the boost controller I was making about 2-3psi more. Also at high boost (18psi) it held it all the way to redline. I haven't done any more testing past this yet. I will be hopping back on the dyno as soon as I can get some new rear tires to give you guys the results. Here is a pic of the custom pipe.

I cant wait to see you make 300whp on a stock turbine.... Go get that thing on the rollers.. I told you that expanding it would work! w00t!

BTW. I'm still tingling from those fun runs after dyno day, i need another ride soon.

I plan on having it ceramic coated sometime in the next couple weeks.

I did some runs on the highway on my way home. I only pushed it to 16psi because my tires are really bad. I had to lower the boost controller 20% over my previous setting to get the same boost. I can tell I lost some midrange but the top end is totally different. There is way more power! The butt dyno tells me about 20 extra hp on the top end. I did one little pull in 3rd gear at 20psi from 3k rpm, when I got on it the damn tires broke loose so I backed off of that. I won't be able to tell if I can hold the boost pressure till I upgrade the tires. I am really excited, because it made a huge improvement.

For those of you keeping score at home, the exhaust starts at 3" ID at the downpipe then upsizes to 3.7" ID before going over the crossmember, 5" ID tip.

Where did you find that nice "T" coupler clamp and joint on the large section of the exhaust, or was that allready manufactured on the exhaust?

Yeah it came with the exhaust. It's one of the many things I like about this exhaust system.

it's a V-band clamp setup. you can find them online at alot of places. cheapturbo.com has them but only up to 3" i think.

mark - looks good, hope to see good numbers out of it! i am always impressed with your car, so simple, yet so fast. the way it should be. must be the magic of the 3s.
