Default Might be getting a 76 Corolla

I am not really new here, just first time really posting. But, I have to say the information you guys give is great. I have been into Toyotas for a long time. My Dad has work for Toyota for 18 years now.

I might get a 76 Corolla with a 22RE engine (Carburetor) in it. If I go through with it, I was wonder what would be the best engine to put in it to run about 250- 300 HP safely. And still have room to add more if I wanted to down the road. I was thinking either 4AGE, 3TC, 7M-GTE, etc. I want to turbo what ever I get. I drive a 96 Corolla 5spd now, and love it. I am a fan of Corollas. I have own 3 Celicas and now this Rolla.

If I don't end up getting this, I appreciate the info you guys gave me. I'll have to meet up at the next Toyota meet and look at the local Yotas. Good luck to all of you and your projects.

7M-GTE fo lyfe.

Also, if it was carburated, it'd be 22R, not 22RE. E = electronic fuel injection

I'd say 3sgte. It's been done and proven ultra poweful in that little car. and it's pretty light compared to 7m

i have a 80 rolla with a 3TC and it's hella fun to drive.

someone probably swapped that motor in there because your car originally had a 2TC in it, not a 22RE.
slap a 2/3TC in it..weber side drafts, cam it, roller rockers, header...good for about 200HP. if you want more power...then boost it. a boosted 3TC can easily go into single digit 1/4 mile times

check out www.toyota3tc.com for more info

3tc all the way. i know a couple of guys that would do the work the right way for a good price. i'm currently building a 3tc turbo monster for my ae86 and i can't wait until it's done cause i have a very long list of kills i need to fulfill. but on the other hand the 22r is a beast too, since it already have the 22r setup in it why not keep that setup.

Thanks for all the input. Look's like I might go with the 3TC. Can't wait to see some of your cars at a meet. And yes, Toyz for life
