looks like you got a good head on your shoulders as far as what you want to do...bottom line is what you want the car to do...once you decide on that youll have no problem picking out the neccessary components...and if ya need any help dont hesitate to ask me
the thing i noticed though...why is anyone saying spend BIG money on upgrading the brakes? the stock TT brakes rival the best BBKs in the world.... there is NO reason to upgrade or touch them...unless you are doing it for cosmetic reasons... there are multiple 1000hp plus supras running around with stock brakes...not because they cant afford a BBK but because the stock brakes ARE THAT GOOD.
just some food for thought...

if ya catch what im saying, hopefully it makes sense... i doubt i will buy brakes, it was just a thought, but unsprung weight.. DAMN stock calipers are heavy!!!!

And bigger brakes will be an improvement over the already bad ass stock brakes.... if you decide to go with diff brake setup I call dibs on your brakes
The NA brakes suck hardcore. Also how much do you want for the bomex sides/vielside rears? LMK

Its not as much stoping power as it is un-sprung weight and when it comes to auto-x that is a major factor so shit can the stock heavy brakes and get some stoptechs.

oh and one of his sideskirts is F'd up IIRC, he hit a retread on the freeway or something... and his front lip got F'd up too, right?
we dont need to weaksauce 4pistons... were going to end up with some 6-piston calipers on the front... so you can keep the small brakes
Mark, check out Stoptech.com for any potential brake upgrades. they have some of the best engineering going into their brake kits so they keep the hydraulic pressures and brake torque arm leveraging and such within stock specifications so that the stock ABS algorithms will work and not act all weird if you lock up the brakes... nothing is more embarassing than getting into a wreck BECAUSE of your big brake kit.
also, Dekitting is good... sleeper is good... stock appearing is good. if anything, see if you can get the active-aero front bumper from the Euro model.
and, compressor surging does not happen because of poor fuel injection engineering... it happens when the boost level rises faster than the airflow can. If your turbo spools up so fast that you are hitting 2.5PR and only pushing 25lb/min, almost any turbo is going to surge. on the compressor maps, its the area to the LEFT of the "Surge line". so if you plot a point that is high boost and still low on the air flow, that is giong to induce surge.

I have been looking at some brake kits, and alcon seems nice too, just not sure which ones produce better results... I cant seem to find any comparisons. I am also thinking of going to an 18" wheel because i havent been able to get traction in the form my car is in now, which is no good, because in its current form, it maybe can eclipse 300 hp
Yes, de kitting may be good, but then ive got a lot of other parts to buy, and MKIV's look kinda plain - they all look alike stock body. I think ill do a seibon lip, and call it a day. If i dont like that, ill rip off the kit and Kirk, you can have whatever you want, ill make ya a deal except for the right sideskirt, ill give that to ya... it can be fixed, its not all that bad, i just havent gotten around to it.
Ok, now youve screwed me up. The PR of the compressor and the airflow arent preset rates at which a turbo will surge correct? The turbo will surge whenat a certain percentage with PR and airflow... i think? Its like the srt-4's on stock turbos, boost controllers supposedly can make them surge... i am assuming that this is boost pressure too quickly, if pr and airflow is the cause of surge...
Oh, and before i try all that, im going to buy the 98 headlights, and tails... then i can call it a 98...
chris, ive actually got something interesting to talk to you about... ill try to call you later this week....
