your car sounded pretty strong when your at the burn out box,
but you were running high 14's. then i said to myself that can't be, so i sat at the top of the bleachers and studied every run you made. i knowtice on a few of your passes it would take you 1 or 1.5 seconds to put it in gear like you were fighting to pu it in gear. so i said to myself his tranny is going to take a shit real soon. then later on that night i saw you run a 13.8 or something like that. i think the car sounds and run real good. the car seems like it has some potential. keep up the good work.

He's making a lot more power than what should be running 13's, I'm sure he had some sort of big handicap or problem with the car to be running those sort of times with the power that thing has.

that is correct the handicap was that it wasnt tuned

then he went and put 100 octane in it (still not tuned) and expected it to perform better

rookie mistake-but we've all done it before
(im not saying your a rookie mark- im just stating that weve all done it at one time or another)

either way he was running way to rich and boggin down the powerplant, and if i remember correctly he drenched his plugs every race

the car is a low 11 high 10 car
on slicks low 10's

The car has too thick of a HG on it at the time ... So the car falls on its face after every shift ..

With a 1.6mm HG and soem tunning the car will run high 11's low 12's on streets I think

no its not the head gasket, its the tuning and the turbo's too big, it had that problem when taka first bougth the car, the way to get around that was to use the nitrus.

rookie mistake?? hahahhahahahahaahha

the headgasket did change the peformance of the car bc it went from a 8:1 to a 7:1

bottom line, i shouldnt have put race gas in it, it made it run too rich and the car was bucking down the track in every gear. left the track, went and got some 93 and ran like a champ on the interstate, in which i beat both a modded cobra and modded C5 vette.

the cars trap EGTs were around 1100 degrees which is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too cool.

the car has to be shifted slow bc u cant speed shift it, something is wrong with the clutch/tranny which doesnt allow u to shift the car hard.

what would help the car out a lot would be an electric cut out on the downpipe. the car has a cat and TWO mufflers on it which i know creates a shit load of back pressure which is slowing down the turbo between shifts more then it should.

but frankly, im just getting tired of the car, i might put it on ebay so i can make my SR corolla 400WHP+

Why dont you actually finish one thing at atime? then you could e-bay it with a 10 second timeslip........ It'd be worth alot more

well the thing is it needs a new tranny, but the guys who built it welded a 4ag bellhousing to a celica w58 tranny. so there's no way to change the tranny. and i still think there is something wrong with the clutch install. the car needs to be gone threw and have all its little problems fixed. and i don't think a head gasket can drop the compression a full point. i have the same HKS 2mm HG for the built high compression blue hat i have and we figured it would drop the comp from 12.1 to like 11.75 or soo. maybe half a point at max.

you can get an adapter to use the 4a bellhousing on the w58 tranny from Rhet aka TOYCOOLROLLA on club 4ag. as far as the tranny goes, you can get one of those from cophers for $30.
82-85 efi celica or efi pickup truck.

for every 1mm thicker u go on a headgasket, u roughly loose 1 compression point.

The car will never run 10s, it would have to make 450-500WHP and have amazing traction.

the car is just a pain in the ass and id rather sell it then dump a bunch of money and time fixing the tranny/clutch, doing a valve job, retuning it, blah blah, when i can build my SR Corolla for less and be as fast and more reliable.
