Does anyone have comparisions between a ct20b turbo and a ct27 which one would be a better upgrade?

just make an adapter and run a s15 sr20det turbo. its ball bearing. and thereis no such thing as a ct20b, its just a 3rd gen version of the ct26. i would get the "ct20b" and run a standalone. shit i would love to see a sw20 stock with just a standalone prolly make mad power.

Marks car made 277RWHP with a stock CT20B with DP , Exhaust , Intake , ECU @ 17lbs on a Gen3 .... The CT20 is no slouch .

The CT27 you mean the ATS racing turbo ? Aaron and the guys at ATS are good guys but I dont know about that turbo . They made 300RWHP with cams , built motor , standalone etc etc ..

I'd like to see it done on a near stock MR2 like marks

Kinda off topic, but are the second gen CT-26s on the 1JZ VVTi (3rd gen)? Or do they have the 3rd?

There is such thing as a ct20b it comes off a 3ed gen 3sgte. . ct26 is off the 2ed gen 3s. Never herd of a ct27

CT27 is a clipped CT 26.. any sort of clipping or stock wheel modification is always bad news. Its great to gain 5-10 rwhp but lose 2/3rds of your torque band

Put it this way

CT20B or a Gen3 3SGTE Turbo > any CT26 clipped or whatever

ACTUALLY. I was wrong.

CT27 is a 26 with either a T04E 46 trim wheel or a 50 trim wheel on it... But regardless of this, the "CT20B" (3rd gen 3sgte CT26) is better in all respects. I'm pretty sure MR2Driver has less mods than this and makes lots more power, also the torque curve on this is worse than marks.

Mods on above car: 16 psi (18 psi in midrange), gutted primary cat, no b-pipe or muffler (to simulate performance exhaust), ATS Tuned Rom, Walbro 255hp fuel pump, Manual Boost Controller. Stock block, stock pistons, stock head, stock intake, stock injectors, 145,000+ miles, etc. + CT27
