I've been seriously thinking about trying to add some FAQ's to this section. Right now the only sticky is an elaborate "for sale" thread.

Some FAQ's I'd like to see made.

MK3 FAQ -- Modified 7m up to about 450whp, 1JZ swap and basic mods. I'd want costs, part lists, approx fabrication time even if possible. Basic weight reduction and suspension information. Info about common body modifications, brake upgrades, and basic wheel info.

AE86 faq..

Probabally the MOST IMPORTANT thing about the AE86 faq is the cost of making a "off the street" used AE86 driftable. Mainly because so many people these days buy and AE86 thinking its ready to go with just a title in hand. Fact is the cars are OLD and things are worn, in order to make a reliable drift car out of one is not an easy or cheap task. I know club4ag has something like this and I'm going to read it again.

Also basic engine swap and suspension information.

MR2 FAQ...

This one will cover basic info like... What does swapping a turbo into an NA cost, what is the 3rd gen 3sgte and what does it cost. Major maintence issues. What does it cost to own and maintain a stock mr2. And why a 2JZ wont fit in an Mr2 ever (even if its becasue if you had the money to do it, you'd probabally buy a Ferrari or at least major modded MKIV).

MKIV faq.

This is the easiest one of them all, but will be the last in line as it is most important. Basically it will say what it costs to buy a decent na and turbo one.. What it costs to BPU and BPU ++ and the results, and what it costs to turbo an NA.

I know this will cause some dissagreement between people in these forums. I am hoping this can be a first step forwards into making the Toyota forum more "newbie" friendly by keeping a lot of unnecessary questions from hitting the board, and thus less flaming.

These FAQ's dont need to be 100% origional, I will most likely provide many links to other websites and forums that are more "Model specific" like Supraforums, boardmr2 or club4ag in order to keep us from having to write a novel, but seeing as some of their data is often a few years dated, we can update it slightly.

This is our chance to move forewards in the TR community and become the Tech forum everyone has always strived to be.

As I get free time to be able to help compile these things, I may be PMing some of you to help in the development, and as I post the FAQ's they will be open to critizim, but any major conflicts will be deleted, if you want to get a point across you can do it in a grown up manner sans personal attacks.

OK this is a lot to chew, go get a few and tell me what you think.

Gotcha... Just send me some links for articles I can reference and I'll be putting it together in some of my spare time, and or assiging some of you to possibly do it 3rd party if u feel like it. Looks like we pretty much have the MK3 supra covered and the AE86 faq has some initial information waiting on more.
