Default where to find braided SS DOT-approved brake lines for MK3?

the brakes on the 1JZ car locked up again. going to try replacing the brake lines this time... since its the only thing not yet replaced.

any places local where i can pick up a set of Braided SS lines w/ DOT approval? i dont want jim-bob's ebay special that doesnt meet DOT specs... cuz quite frankly, i dont want to risk a $12k car on some $75 brake lines.

chris did you put the stop valve on the master for the vac line on backwards??? this is just rediculous for this to keep happening.

you mean the check valve that keeps vaccum in the master cylinder? no, that was never removed, its still sitting the same way as it was when it rolled off the assembly line. i really am blaming the soft lines. the hillbilly that towed kellys car last time suggested it was the soft hose that was collapsing inside. no body listend to him cuz he was a toothless hillbilly... but thats about the only thing left that has NOT been repaired or replaced.

and this just happend when kelly was coming to a stop and pumped the brakes and made the car jerk... you know, when you are playing around w/ a passenger who might be trying to drink something and you tap the brakes real fast... well thats when it happend.

definitly go with the goodrich lines, i've had them on my corolla since 98. you might try www.toysport.com. if the calipers are original i would replace them too. but putting money into stock mk3 brakes is useless. i would do a cheap junkyard upgrade like LS400 4 piston fronts and IS300 twin piston rears or something like that. hell, 4WD toyota pickups had 4 piston fronts since the 80's and their cheap.

I think they were about the same price. I bought from horsepower freaks because I also got the RSR race springs at the same time.

Ah ok... i gotcha.

i thought about doing the MKIV rear calipers and then something for the front. but one of my friends has the designs to make adapters to use wilwood SL6R's on the front and 12.75" Corvette Grand Sport rotors, which still fit behind the sawblades. i think thats what im going to end up doing w/ the 1JZ car and the Soarer...whenever i get that.

he said he wanted to figure out a way to put some 4 pistons on the rear too. but, he got fired from his job at the machine shop so its put a damper on things.
