THAT should be the new supra. Looks like perfect natural progression of the supra IMO. And i'd be perfectly happy if they threw the 2JZ in there and were done w/ it. Maybe make it AWD. It doesn't have to be $100,000 to beat porsche, 350Z etc...

 

I deffinetly see Cassio's point. It does look more Celica geared in the front, Mk4 geared in the back, minus the tailights.

Not so much like a successor to the Mk4 as it does the second successor to the Mk3 (redone, modern version of the Mk3) IMHO

Like all Toyota cars (minus the POD) I love its style, and agree that this should be around the same price as Mk4 when it came out, maybe a bit less. V6 might actually be the 4.0 one used in the X-Runner, which was made to compete with the 350Z anyways. That would be nice.

Judging from how much the Tacoma blows away the small pickup competition (cheaper, faster, better gas mileage, 6spd, stops sooner, etc.) I think with some minor factory mods, this thing could be quite a contender. 280-300 HP should come with the "lower end" I think. 425+ to compete against the american tradtional speed cars for the GT

 

I read a news report that had a few quotes from the Prez of Toyota Japan. It said the Supra was comming back for sure(they know the market is back into sports cars, ie 350z, rx8, c6, viper...
One of the quotes was when the Toyota rep asked the Prez if a turbo version was in the works the reply was something like " We will not be using the turbo chargers, but we have been testing the other option in forced induction and have seen great results"
also when asked about the powerplant layout he replied "our V8 is a wonderful engine, so much that it deserves to be in a machine that can show it(supra)........;........therefor
