isleys can do the flywheel. any good machine shop can.

clutch install I'd say do at home. mechanics will try to rape you for like $300-400.00

Have you ever tried to do a clutch on an MR2? It is a pain in the ass and not that easy or quick because of the mid engine mounting. My buddy had his MR2 done at Jerry Ostow's automotive, in St Pete. Charged him a little over $400.
Give him a call, 527-3893

matter of factly i haven't. I know people who have and they lived through it.

Is $400 really a good price for that?

I just go by experience with my own cars. If I paid for labor my car would suck even more than it does now.

400 is a good price, very fair for the labour. If you would like to learn more 1st hand knowledge I would just dyi if you have the tools or consult another mr2 owner who might do it or even help you. I did mine along with the trans and ended up just pulling the whole motor, very easy with help from someone whos done it several times.

still 400 bucks.
learn to do it yourself and then you will never be faced with the question that has been forementioned.
seriously, if you are going to really get into cars(now that you bought a Toyota) you will really need to do your own work if you have time. You will save 9843701927430981274309821734098213.95 dollars a year.

I agree most shop prices are alittle high the dealer is just crazy , but how much would you expect to pay for a clutch 100bux that would be fucking the person working on the car if you thought about it if you got a 5 hour book time on the car most mecanics get paid flat rate hr so they dont see too much money at all and there is costs to keep a shop running so for what you are willing to pay would put every shop out of buisness......

I had a tranny swapped for 400 about a year and a half ago, wont ever pay again if I dont have to when I can just do it myself and save the price of labor and the satifaction of my own"job well done". Ive done the motor, trans ,clutch ,flywheel, harness ,ect.ect.and couldnt make myself pay someone else to ever work on my car again. Also ,If you are going to upgrade from a oem clutch to something with more grip youll prolly want to get some motor mounts done , or do something to harden your stock ones.
