The car is an 85 corolla gts.

Today on my way home my rear end started making this creaking noise like an old door. It's definitely coming from the rear drivers side wheel. Here's the specifics:

It isn't constant, it sounds like its at a certain spot in the rear wheel's rotation. It sounds like cri, cri, cri, cri and changes with the speed of the wheels. The weird part is the car behaves normally in every way but this sound is kinda scary.

It only occurs when the car is rolling on the ground regardless of gear, clutch, brake, or engine state. when I jacked up the car and ran it throught the gears it sounded perfectly normal. I've already ruled out the wheel, brake, and/or tire rubbing. The things I'm not sure of are the diff or the axle itself.

I highly suspect the wheel bearing. But I always thought they whine.

Can anyone give insight? I'm sure this has come up before.

I notived yesterday your passenger side wheel was wobbling quite a bit .

Dunno if that's causing any problems

 

nah it wasnt wobbling. The lip on it is bent so it just looks bad
