Default what do you think about the "Soapra"?

i was just curious what other people think of this front end conversion on the MK3 supra. in nissan terms, its like a sil-eighty. the soarer is basically the coupe version of the supra, which we obviously never got. just like the newer style of the Soarer/JZZ30/SC300 is a coupe version of the JZA80/MKIV supra. all the JZZ30 underpinnings interchange w/ the MKIV supra. anyways, im thinking i may build one of these out of my red supra that ive had for a while. alot of people like it, some dont. all i can say is that its unique and different. and i think the reason its "cool" is because its "JDM" and "TYTE"... no, but seriously, its got a certain... mystique to it. since there never was a soarer over here like it, it might be desireable to some just because of its rarity factor here stateside.

sooo... if i were to build one of these, would anyone buy it? i only ask because if things go my way in the future, i will have some Z20 Soarer front end parts that i can install on my supra, and it would probably be up for sale at some point.

uh, you are entirely wrong... the supra is a "hatch back". that big piece of glass that makes it classified as a "2 door liftback" is a hatch. the soarer is a TRUE coupe w/ a real "boot" that is separated from the passenger cabin by a rear bulkhead.

thats like saying the 240 hatch is still a coupe like the 240 coupe.

silvia=coupe
180sx=hatch

soarer=coupe
supra=hatch

well the soarers look cool as a soarer and the supra looks cool as a supra. the front clip hybrid chop is different, but not my style.

"Clean up" yourself with the new SOAPra! I think its supposed to be Soarpra. Or whatever you want. Forget it.

I think it looks pretty cool. I like how they actually would go ahead and do it. The trim doesnt match, but that doesnt bother me. I just think the Mk3 front end is one of the best ever.

Would I do it? Why the hell are you asking me, I'm the guy thats getting a hardtop so in a few years he can gullwing it ...no I wouldnt do it. Mk3 front is fine the way it is. Mk4 looks wrong, and Mk2 looks the same, but the only reason I think it looks as good as it does is because they were designed similarly and in the same time era.

yea... i was just thinkin about it cuz i wanted to do something different last year. i remember seeing pics of that soapra before the body and paint was complete. it looked kinda nifty.

i honestly prefer the supra front end... which is why i want to put a supra front end on a Soarer so i can create a Suproarer. or a "One-via" to you Nissan lovers. the "hatch" front end on the "coupe" body.

im lettin the cat out of the bag here and have already mentioned it elsewhere. but this is what i want to build;

so when i take the front end off a JDM soarer, i will of course have spare soarer body parts left over. when i strip the supra front end off my supra, i will of course have a supra w/o a front end.

i want to do the reverse of the Soapra and build a suproarer.... this is the only other example of it i have ever seen, this guy is in Australia. if i can start wrapping up projects and start selling cars, i will have the free capital to import a JDM soarer for this project.
