but...
"knocking on 8's" with only a 4 or 5 point cage? i do believe it's required to have at least a 6 point cage for lower than 10? (i'll check nhra, ihra)
"knocking on 8's" with no fire extinguisher?
"knocking on 8's" with no halon system (with at least 2, preferrably 3 jets)???
he asked for it. spend $xxxxxxxxxx on your xxxxxx hp supra and still watch it burn to the ground for not having proper fire safety.
i will agree that if it happened really quickly the fire extinguisher might not work due to not being able to pop the hood...but with the halon system, you just pull the switch inside the car and it should take care of business before it gets out of hand.
oh well sounds like he has enough $ to not worry about it and do another supra. must be nice.

Actually it should take less to put his supra in the 9's with the th400... probably more around 700rwhp through the converter.
