Default Tampa Track Day, this Gen 3 engine sucks

HAHA just kidding.

Best run on 14psi

60' - 1.823
1/8 - 7.981
MPH - 87.31
1000 - 10.391
1/4 - 12.418
MPH - 110.44

Best run on 16psi

60' - 1.902
1/8 - 8.016
MPH - 89.43
1000 - 10.386
1/4 - 12.378
MPH - 112.07

My Mods

ARC Intake
Hux Racing Downpipe
SARD Catback Exhaust
SARD Trigger EBC
ACT 6 puck
8" SPAL Fan on Stock intercooler
Mine's ECU
Tein H/A's
15" Volk TE37
(Everything else is stock)
Yokahama ES100 225/50-15

I was pretty impressed with the times. When I put the boost up to 16 psi I started having traction problems on the launch. I ran 2.5 gallons of 93 octane and 4 gallons of 100 octane unleaded. I refuse to turn the boost past 16psi without an aftermarket intercooler. I am very impressed with the engine, and I am glad I went with it. I figure an aftermarket intercooler, water injection, drag radials, and I should be in the 11's.

drag radials alone should put you in the 11s...

Thanks man. I put the green body panels back on and painted the center peice on the tailights black, so the car looks more normal. So the car is Turquise with White wheels.

Hey Mark, can I "borrow" your ecu?

Where did you get the boost controller? What did you pay for it? I need something better than my profecB. If I set it for 17.5psi in third, I only get about 15 or 16 in first and second. It also tends to creep which is reflected in my dyno graph.

Amazing times. You're race gas time is almost equal to my fastest pump gas time and I have an intercooler and ported head. I think your choice to go with the miata-weight hardtop was genius. Now my full leather and power isn't so cool I'm jealous! Oh well, I can always get a gen2 and be just as fast

I ran a little bit of high octane gas to try to get the mixture to 96 octane, because that is what octane the car should be getting if it were in japan. I didn't want to push my luck with just 93, not until I get it on the dyno atleast. Thanks for the great comments everyone. I am so extatic. Everything worked out like I planned.

If your boost is creeping then its either...

A: your wastegate
B: possibly a gain setting on the profec (also would cause not enough in certain gears.
C: Engine just dosent have enough load in 1st and 2nd to push the T3/T4 to the same PSI with the same gain...

My Z I always set the boost in 4th gear, and it'd never make full boost in first and barely in 2nd (14psi).

Ive just never seen a profec thats failed.. Maybe try a spec II? I wouldnt trust my car to anything but a profecB product (I or II)
