My friend loves his celica, who knows why, but he wants to put money in to it now that he got a check from the coastguard. It's an automatic ST with like 92,000 miles on it. First thing he wants is auto to manual conversion, then possibly cams and boost. I know nothing about celicas so ill throw this post up here. Anyone shed some light on what to do with a 95 celica? I told him to sell it and buy a diff car, but hes hell bent on keeping this. Thanks

 

3SGTE swap has been done before, its not bad and will give him much more room for expansion than the stock motor that comes in those celicas, its basically a POS....

 

what car does the 3SGTE come from?

 

mr2 turbos.... celica alltrac.... thats bout it in the US

 

go to celica.net, go to the message board (link at right), and talk to the guys on the 6th gen and forced induction forums.. the 3SGTE swap w/ a Mr2 Turbo (or Solara) E153 FWD tranny is the best way to go. They'll tell you more if you're interested. In the Florida forum, there's a guy named Mina who has a 3rd gen 3SGTE in a 6th gen ST, and he's making 300 HP at the wheels. He accomplished this for around $8000.
