Default MR2 with 2JZGTE

I know its sounds crazy but i need someone to put it to rest for me by proving it is beyond my ability

I want to put a TTE in a MR2, kick out trunk, AWDmantrans, counter rotation differentials, suspension revision to support, and change cooling system to support

I trying to be cheap and do this but It will be a project what are some realistic shit that I will run into that makes this impossible

size of motor, trans, the fact that its a longitudinal engine and trans set up so the front will stick out the back and it will be front wheel drive, cost of 2jz swap alone without fab, and if you want awd custom tranny, Im sure theres more, but those are what I can think of off the top of my head

good luck on that, and again AWD would require the fab of a custom tranny, and I would imagine with the time, and price and design of that tranny would be several thousand dollars, I know that mass produced trannys cost alone from 6 - 20k a custom designed one would cost upwards of that along with LOTS of time

first of all a used 2jz-gte goes for 3-4 grand depending on miles

however, i happen to have an extra 2jz block... it needs to be rebuilt.... if you are dead serious....make me an offer.... in about a week i will also have the twin turbo manifold and the CT series turbos for it...

and if you plan on doing this GOOD LUCK

have A LOT of patience

also the front suspension will also determine if its even possible to go AWD, if the front susp geometry wont support drive shafts going through it then you will need to redesign and fab that too, all and all if you are searious about this, I would see a time frame of 6mos to a year down time where the car will be apart and cost approaching 50k where most of that will be the tranny, I know the prodrive AWD trannys for the WRX go for 20k and they mass produce those too, also HKS makes a sequential 6speed for mkiv supras thats in the 10-15k range.

you dont have to longitudinally mount the motor. mount in transvers. but you might have to make a custom subframe with a wider rear end or move the cock pit up several inches. i would def say a custom tranny would be in the $15k-$25k range. do you plan on keeping it mid engine or not. i might be easier for make it front engine.

there's a billion different ways you can go. best way would probably be doing the swap from the frame up. meaning you might have to discard most of the shell and make custom panels.

the simplest way would be to build a tube frame, and tackweld a MR2 body unit to it, making the needed body changes.

Otherwise, you better have, I'd estimate, 35,000 bucks to do it.
