Apex'i Power FC . you need to get a JDM to USDM conversion harness .

Few people are running this with decent results .

if u ask on board.mr2faq.com there is a guy in orlando who has developed a plug and play system that lets you plug a laptop into the factory harness..... Its bascially the Hondata or Nissan Rom tuning easiness level, cept u dont have to reburn chips. Just ask in the MR2 turbo forums over there and he should respond, but it sounds like a sweet system for 90% of the users out there.

Does anyone know where I can find a used HKS VPC for the MR2?
I'm looking to pay around 650 for it. My MAF is dead and I've heard that the VPC used is about the same.

Hmmm...I wrote an entire post but I deleted it before I hit "submit reply" because it souded like a flame...anyway, here's some solid advice is as constructive a manner as I can do.

First, you have an AFM, not a MAF, but that's not a big deal. The big deal is that a VPC is an intense waste of money for what you get. For $650, you elminate your AFM abd pick up about 25 rwhp, but you still need an S-AFC if you ever plan on getting bigger injectors. So for nearly $1000, you have a kinda half-assed engine management system still using the out-dated stock ECU. You can get the plug-and play system from the Orlando guys for around that and have the ability to tune on a laptop which is both super cool, and a far better way to tune your engine and get rid of the AFM at the same time. I lost the link, but I know the guy making them so hit me with an email and I'll find the link and send it back to you.

MRControls has the plug and play ECU and the price is great at 1200. But the guy who's selling it is in Cali and I would prefer if the people who supply me with the ECU was a little closer to home. I'm really interested if there really are guys in Orlando who could make a plug and play for me. And I do realize that I if I did get the VPC that I would have to get a Boost controller, and Fuel cut defenser as well. But the stand alone units cost about 2200 or more and you need more money to tune the things. I just have a broken AFM and want to replace it with a MAP. The VPC seemed like a good alternative to the stand alone when it comes to money. I figured the VPC, FCD, and Boost controller would total me for about 1200 plus install and tune. I realize that you pay for quality but I don't desire any more than 300+whp. If I could get a plug and play for about the same price then I'm all ears.
