Unhappy MAF sensor Dead!! What to do?

Hey, I have a 92 MR2 that has a dead MAF sensor. I can see the thing and its visibly broken. Is this a good time to switch to a more efficient MAS sensor? I heard that the newer models switched from the flapper door MAF system to the more efficient speed density sensor. And if that is true, can I switch the sensors from my car to that of the newer models? Or is the situation more drastic and I have to go all out with a new ECU and the whole shibang in order to get the new sensor? I don't have any mods other than an air filter and a graded turbo using the t04 blade. I was planning on doing the upgrade into a stand alone but not until next year. Is it a better idea to switch the system or go with a new or salvaged part from another mr2?

New AFM is much more feasable at this point .

The Gen3's MAP requires switching out everythign adn alot of stuiff on that motor is different than a Gen2 3S .

Just go with a new AFM for the moment and then research the stand alone's and what not at a later point .

I've found out the price for the MAF sensor from the Dealership.
An amazing 560!! Man, I might as well find a HKS VPC! Does anyone know where I can get a used VPC? Looking to pay around 600 to 700. I know there some out there but I'm having trouble finding them.
