Default If you take suggestions for readability.....

Black on white was easy to read. (TR Daytime)

White on black was easy to read (TR Nighttime)

White and/or Black on Grey is harder to read.....Looks like we have no choice, at least As of 2P-M 22 January.

Try reading the poster's name or the title of the post at the top?
Same lack of readability..........

It could have been worse..... LOL .....yellow on white, for instance....

Change for the sake of change is not always good.-Bob

No one's blaming you guys.
Glad this is not the end product.
There were plenty of good qualities about the former TR.

Totally want to know? For now....readability #1:
My post was about contrast when reading. The higher the contrast the easier to read.
Black letters on a white page, formerly known as the TR daytime skin were easier to read.
Another example of higher contrast is white letters on a black page, formerly known as the TR nightime skin.

Please bring back those two former optional skins instead of "default" and "fluid" or bring them back *in addition to* "default" and "fluid"

Readability #2:
When I type this post in the reply box, it is black letters on a green background,
not as good contrast as black letters on a white background.
Then when I hit "post" the letters change to white letters on a grey background.
....................and I would like the choice of letter colors in either black or white and a choice of background colors of either white or black like we once had.
You give us grey or green whether it is easily read or not.

Keep the colors simple, this site is good for content, not because we force glitzy colors onto the users.-Bob

The background colors we have now and the font colors are the exact same values we had before. White text on a very dark navy blue.

the reply box is black letters on a medium grey background. If it was totally white, or much lighter, it would seem too bright compared with the rest of the style.

the only part that I find to be a bit on the annoying side is the reply box. So far only used the quick reply box... but the black text is straining.

the post color and text is ok. just something doesn't seem right about the font itself. Maybe the default font size needs to be a touch bigger? Just doesn't look right. I'm sure it is the same font set up as before. Maybe it just doesn't look right because of how "big and bubbly" everything else is in contrast.

EDIT: Yeah, that's what it is... Veranda was the old font. That makes a huge difference. The character spacing is better and the lines are more smooth versus the "block" style lines of the current default font

(hold ctrl and hit + ) <-- this will make everything bigger. hit it a few times to make it bigger. If you don't like it hit (hold ctrl and hit - ) to make it smaller or to put it back to normal size.

might be a difficult thing to do, but is there anyway to get the old layout and what not up side by side with the new version.
I honestly never really put a lot of attention into the things that I really liked and what not about the old site, so, while I know they were there, I can't remember what they were specifically.

Tampaforums.com is still on the old layout. Go there and compare. Click on the Forums link on the top from TR and TF and you can see the difference.
