Highest I've seen on my ride, which is moderately modified(turbo, FMIC, etc), is around 1100 Fahrenheit, but it will drop to as low as 700 or thereabouts. 800C is around 1560F. You're breathin fire!

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Yep, running rich and igniting the blow-by on the exhaust side. Good times.

Had mine mounted in the base of the up-pipe right above the flange. It's an Omori gauge/sensor and should be pretty accurate. It's as much for 'fun' factor as anything else. If you're running fuel rails, and I'm assuming you are, leaning out a particular cylinder shouldn't be an issue. I'm using the MRT setup with pink STi injectors. Pretty confident this won't lean out at my current boost/power levels.

Oh yeah, when you're running so much fuel and air through the motor that you get real blow-by and real exhaust ignition, that sure as hell ain't "Fast and Furious", that's just fast. Now if you're running one of those farging flamethrower tips, that's Fast and Furious.

Check the new Sport Compact Car for further details.

I'm too slow to worry about the quarter mile. I live my life one spirited commute to work at a time.
