Arrow Starting mods on a wrx

Im doing some research for him on mods for his car.. He has a 2003 WRX. Seems like the Intakes are tricky and should be choosen with caution and possibly get it tuned at the time its added. Looks like it cause a lean a/f mixture.

Im throwing some ideas and info his way but I have no practical experience with turbo 4 cylinders or WRX's.

Could u give me a some suggestions on where to start modding.
As far as ive read. Looks to spend under 2 grand on mods. keeping the stock turbo for now unless you have some ideas on the subject.

Thanks

I also would suggest starting with the exhaust(downpipe/uppipe). I would pass on modifying the intake, blow off, mbc and maybe even the crank pulley. I would pickup an adjustable rear sway bar and new tires if the car is going to see any track time or any Solo events.

Some pictures of my WRX: http://www.majjix.com/gallery/wrx/ (yes, i'm totally a dork.)

From what I heard the pulley is a 50/50 gain but you get noise from the fact that it is so much lighter than the stock one.

The pulley was not that difficult to remove/install but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone as the gains are really not there and I have some paranoid concerns regarding the harmonic dampner that is on the OE pulley. I dunno, I just don't think it's a worthwhile mod w/ some many other things out there that are clearly worthwhile. I did notice that A/C clicking noise when the compressor is switching on is a bit louder and the lights do dim when idling w/ my pulley.

The sway bar is a good mod if you autocross or do any type of track driving but I would skip this if you only drive the car on the street as I doubt you will/should be pushing the car hard enough to notice or care much. This mod can make your car handle dangerously if you are not prepared(ie: driven the crap out of it on controlled track and know what to expect). The bar with the middle setting on my car makes things pretty scetchy off the pavement, scared the living crap out of my passenger.

Well I have to say the first mod I did on my subie was the suspension that seemed to make the most difference in my ride. But need others opinion for this choice. Should I go DMS suspension or should I go Tein. Voice your opinion it is greatly appreciated.
