stock pistons are good for about 400whp, maybe more if you have a real good tuner, and meth or race gas. im impressed you made 340whp on a vf39 wow.

Yea 340 at the wheels is impressive, most I see that r tuned well at at the low 300-320 range, so I would say your at the turbo limits.

How do you spin a bearing from Detonation. Bearings normally fail due to stress or not being put in properly. Detonation occurs from a bad tune. I can see if you blew a hole in your piston or ring lans or something like that. And when you tune this new motor, take it to Omar Crespo at Area 51 Tuning. He is one of the best Subaru guys in the South.

I wouldn't worry about power... next thing you're gonna do is grenade that tranny and then you'll have to sell off your baby

also wondering about bearing + detonation...... and how in the hell you made 340whp on just a vf39 and an exhaust. I was running a ported vf39 and only made 300whp. given, my tune was on the conservative side since the car was on the track all the time. but still. 340 is a lot more.

omar will charge the same......pm me if you want him to do it, i will set it up. our shop sublets to him for most tuning. are you open source or cobb?

You can spin a bearing due to detonation, it puts alot of stress on the rod bearings when it occurs, thats why 2steps can ruin bottom ends if your not careful, but sounds like you had multiple problems going on. maybe you had det. because your tuner was trying to get too much power out of your set up and leaned it out way to much.
