I was really about to take the plunge on a gray '11 STI that Mastro has right now. Weather has been awful, traffic absolutely sucked but I decided to go there anyway, since today was my day off and had nothing else to do. I called up there to make sure it was still there. I made a pretty lowball offer on the internet of $29,500. The manager responded to my email stating if that offer was out the door, there is no way he could do that, but if it didn't include taxes, that was a different story. So I headed down to there to speak to a fat, dickhead salesman. I walked to the back of the lot in pouring rain because the fatass wouldn't offer to bring it to the front for me. No big deal. He laughed at me for offering such a low amount for the car. I told him thats fine, thanks anyway. Of course he tells me to wait so he can talk to his manager. He comes back and says "For you, we can do invoice cost." (Which is on the internet). He said I'll never get a car for invoice price no matter what I do. I proceeded to tell him I've purchased 4 brand new cars in the past 6 years, all of which were substantially lower than invoice. He talked to me like I was garbage and a little kid. He also told me I will never be able to find a 2011 STI for less than 33K for the rest of the year, especially because of the Quake in Japan.. LOL. Needless to say, I will never be going to Mastro again and I'm going to be going out of my way to insure that no one that I know does business with them either.

For the record, its not the price that got me annoyed at all. If a dealer can't/won't sell me a car for the price that I want.. I hold nothing against the dealer and do not blame them. However, if you want to be a dickhead and talk to me like I'm stupid.. I'll make sure they get treated the same way.

lol to be honest, the tranny replacement at 4k miles was crazy.. and then the rear diff leak and then another tranny leak. Then another tranny leak.. Got annoying.

man, i'm sorry to hear that and I hope you get the 2011 sti. I love this car almost to much .
I had the opposite experience with both the salesman, Richard ( Dick) Polgreen and
also the service Mastro has been providing me .
I've talk to Richard many , many times and he has always been very respectful to me .
I sat down with him .
I told him what i wanted to buy , we worked out the deal .
I'm very pleased with the price they sold it to me for and i feel we both left happy.
I've been back several times for parts and services .
I visit with Richard each time and we talk about all kinds of subjects.
I feel i must mention my experience after yours because
it would not be fair to Mastro and their staff If I didn't
.
I don't blame you for being angry and insulted being treated more
like a nuisance rather than the potential buyer that you are.
I would have left just as quick and I would have been just as pissed.
Who cares about where/who you buy a car from ..it's all about my money
Before you negotiate with them on your final price :

first ~ have them lay out their formal price
allow them to attempt to sell you.
*They will show their cards and you will be able to see what price point they are at.
Now ... consider what your willing to pay and if those figures dont mesh .. then leave.
When you give them a price ceiling your willing to spend
it makes it too easy to dismiss your deal, for lack of return .

People are lazy and reflect the type of day they are experiencing
Let them invest their effort negotiating to you and it may entice them to agree
to a deal below what their initial price would have been .

No one should ever treat you like that and I don't blame you one bit shopping around to save yourself tons of money.
I know you've bought new cars in the past without my help but I feel i had to be fair to Mastro and Richard.
I hope you get your car soon , but it has been sweet not seeing them around tho~

Sorry for what happended, you might have caught Dick on a bad day (still no excuse for the treatment you got). I would pass on the new STi's anyways, they don't make them like they used to. To refined, to soft, to old guy-ish... they do look good though.
