You will need cams if you want to hit 400whp with a Frankenstein.

man sorry to hear this.. makes me want to change my timing belt now, I'm at about the same mileage but mine is an 02.

The car wont have any balls..as soon as u get it together do a compression test.Try turning it by hand first just in case one valve is stuck open so u dont do any more damage.if does not turn by hand..well u have a bigger bill.

If u have a bent valve you will know it. You will hear a "tink" "tink" noise or worse depending on the severity. Subaru valves are loud as is so a bent valve is usually very obvius. Whether it sounds good or not do a compression test like everyone is saying, If you can do a leak down then even better.

i can turn it over by hand already tried that and everything felt okay and ill do a compression test as soon as i put it back together thanks again guys!

Oh and is there a way to do like a DIY leakdown test im not really sure what that is ive herd of them before but not sure of the process?

U need the leak down tester to perform the test. U can get one from harbor frieght for pretty cheap. l

havent had a second to do it work has been kicking my ass plus trying to find rides and shit but ill be doing it saturday
