Default Who likes beer and EJs??

hey guys, i got a gasket set in and i was going to put my longblock together myself.... unfortunately i realized i dont know where alot of these things go, and i really dont want to screw this up and have to be carless for yet another 2-3months. so to anyone who has knowledge on doing this and wouldnt mind helping me out this weekend, i offer you some beer, laughs, maybe a bloody knuckle or two. let me know...

btw im in near westshore mall incase you need to know location

appreciate the offer at least. id do it solo, really just hate not having a car that runs, im so close i just dont want to screw it up lol

put the tools down and take a step back, last thing you want to do is miss a gasket or mess something up at this point. I can also help.....however this weekend i am tied up. I would hire a professional before you do it by yourself.

yea i already told myself the same thing lol. i would hire a professional but thats not really an option. im not completely new to this, i just dont know what some of these are for.

if i posted a pic of what im unsure of, would anyone think they could ID them for me?

sure, post it up. What would really help u is a copy of the service manual. You should be able to find it online or go to your dealwer and usually they will print it for you. It outlines all gaskets and placement of gaskets

WOAH!... that manual is alot of reading lol. yea if you want to take a crack at it here it is.


so i know the zig-zag is for the water pump, and the rubber spacers are for the oil pump. there was another large orange o-ring, i set it aside because it looked exactly like my oil cooler gasket
