no i actually like the 25 RS cars, all the STI's we didnt get, just the late 90;'s early 00's cars were somewhat booring without all the flashy sti parts.

now i honestly never expected the 2.5 rs i drove that was bone stock to be so fun.

the newer cars, i just... mmm i dunno, they just dont do it for me. i would consider a bone stock STI as a daily though.

anyway, the op picture doesnt look remotly like an actualy production car. its flashy though, thats for sure

 

I like it. It puts some sporty-ness back into the WRX, which was lost after '07. I think they needed to do this. All WRX's shared the body with the STi's... and let's face it, it is a WRX before it is an STi.... The STi's were mainly hopped up WRX's with minor body mods, and a bigger motor creating more power (unless its JDM, then its a bigger turbo and higher reving engine), matted to a 6 speed. That changed in 08 when the STi became something of it's own, following the path of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. I think Subaru made the right choice in making this car. Now the WRX looks like it can be taken to the track, and now compete with the handling of the praised Mazdaspeed3, being that it does have a wider stance now.

The more I look at the pic the more I like it . I wonder if the sti will be available in the body style as well.

 

The rumor threads are saying the STI will be available only in a sedan. Only time will really tell though.

 

It should've never been produced as a hatchback, ever.

The actual pics (NY auto show) make it look much better than that 1st post rendering with heavy fender shading, etc.

I'm not in the market (bugeye for life!), but I did finally learn to never judge any car by a picture on a computer, let alone a rendering. Wait to see it in person.
