I have a forced performance TD05H-18G turbo running the internal wastegate. I think it needs to be adjusted because every time i get into the top end of the RPM range in 3rd gear, the boost simply cuts out (about 6700rpm), and the check engine light comes on. It reads that Wastegate Performance/dynamics. I check my wastegate duty thanks to the Cobb AccessPort, and once it gets full throttle past 3500rshared_pm to redline, it reads 0% when according to my map it should be reading 38%. I think my wastegate arm needs to be adjusted. I bought it from Tupass and he had it set at 15psi, and i lowered it, but might not be at 9psi. Think it still may be set too high?

 

Are you overboosting at all?

 

Have someone watch your boost as you redline 3rd. If it's creeping up top you'll have to do something about it. You can try running a vacuum line straight from the boost source nipple on the turbo to the wastegate and see if it still creeps. If it still creeps you'll need to either adjust the wastegate actuator or port the wastegate hole itself.

It actually doesnt creep. it holds 18.5psi on the AP, ~19psi on the Autometer Boost Gauge and holds steady until about 6500 where it tapers down to 17psi.... suprisingly it doesnt creep.

 

When it was at a higher boost like 24psi it would taper down to around 22psi but not at 19psi ,it held that all the way to redline.play with the wg arm..

 

The AP will probably only show up to 18.4 psi...

The boost cut on that map is set at 18.8. Quite often it'll cut about 1 psi under what it's set to. So it could trigger as early as 17.8, but it has to be over 17.8 for 1.5 seconds.

It really doesn't surprise me that you're hitting the boost cut. The worrisome thing is if it's not tapering even at 0% wastegate, when it gets colder it's going to get worse.

Try loosening the actuator arm a little...

Awesome. I thought losening the wastegate arm would help. It will get up to 58% at 3500-3700rmp, and then just die off on the watsegate duty. I noticed that it only seems to be doing this when it is cold outside. When it's hott, it has rarely ever cut.... thus also why I was asking Scott for getting a custom map done.... rather have an AP map done than an OpenSource.... but i think the arm does need to be loosen.
