Unhappy It finally happened

Lost the oem STI limited front lip spoiler last night. It's been hit and banged by curbs and uneven road surfaces (pulling out of driveways and parking lots) far too many times since I bought the STI new in late 2006. It's now in 2 pieces in my trunk. I'm at a dilemma now: (1) get a new lip and risk the same thing happening again or (2) forget the lip.

I love the look and I feel the car almost needs to have it, but it's retardely impractical.

^not retardedly impractical when you're not plowing curbs, lol. Perhaps a little inconvenient at times, but whatever.

Those clips / bumper holes must have been shot from having the lip ripped off on the curb the last time. Didn't look that bad when I was under there

I guess I consider it impractical since the car will eventually be driven in a place where snow and potholes exist. It obviously took 2.5 years for this to happen in FL, but in NY or CO, for instance, it might only take a week or a month.

Plus I love using it to plow things. I love the crunching noise it makes when it comes forcibly in contact with concrete.

I'd get another lip. I know since I got my lip I started being more cautious pulling out of driveways and such to avoid scraping the lip

Same shit happened to me, however it was a blown 18 wheeler tread in the middle of I-75. OEM replacement was like $450
So I did the Home Depot special, Garage Door sealer, and some double sided tape. (screws where necessary)

BE MORE CAREFUL!!! I'm pretty sure I'm lower than 95% of the Subies out there and I dont have any issues. You just have to not hit those parking barriers and you'll be fine.

When you get another one don't bolt it down so it is able to flex when you hit something.

I was thinking that too but I bet his deductable is atleast 300, then the possibility of rate increase because of the claim... so not worth it in that regard. But if you are going to use your "mod fund" I'd say go for getting another one. I want to get into some "show" mods since I'm about done with the "go" ones
