If someone can answers some questions for me it would help alot. Someone is selling a clutch for an 04 wrx, stage 3. Now, will that fit an 05 sti even though its a 5 speed ? It shouldnt matter correct since its the clutch, not the gears. hes selling it at an awesome price and i dont need anything crazy. but it doesnt come with bearings and tool, i was told i could buy it at an auto parts store.

That will not fit.

02-05 WRX (2.0) are interchangeable, 04+ STi (2.5) are different.

 

Actually a WRX clutch will fit an STi 6MT. People have been using WRX clutches for awhile to do 6 speed swaps on the cheap. IIRC the WRX clutch is smaller in diameter than the STi so it fits in the 6MT, but an STi clutch is too big for the 5MT.

I still wouldn't put a WRX clutch in an STi if I could avoid it though. No point in skimping on something like that even if its a good deal.

smaller diameter less strength it will have... for instance my clutch/flywheel diameter is way bigger then an stis. i have an aftermarket clutch thats good for 600wtq and doesnt feel much harder then stock now to have an sti clutch rated for that the clutch pedal will feel wayyyyyy harder then stock

the smaller the diameter the more pressure you need to hold a certain power level that a larger clutch can handle with less pressure

im sure its not much different between the size of the wrx and sti but like stated why cheap out you want more surface area anyways

 

ohh i see alright then, do you know where to get a clutch and flywheel package that wont rape me out of my funds??? my mods list is in my sig

not too much maybe max 600~700 dollars and i cant seem to find packages anywhere though
