there's no general number. it depends on how the previous owner took care of it and treated the car. if they kept up with maintenance & didnt beat the shit out of it, it will last 200k+

Weak points are typically transmissions and driveline components. If the plugs, head gaskets and clutch have been changed recently that may help you save some money in the future.

Like any car, keep it well oiled and cool and it will last a long time. Drive it like a menace and it will break on you.

I have an 02 myself. Check the shifting between 3rd and 4th. I've heard it can get a little rough if the previous owner pushed it hard. Good luck to ya, and I hope to kinda use yours as a reference to how mine will act in the future. I have 84K on mine right now.

Dunno my car puts out 380-400 on a stock block......depending on the map.

Well over 100k miles and has had 4 turbos and three different meth nozzles, various cocktails of mixtures, has been over 19psi (i know its relative) for over 3 years, 300whp for 2 and a half years, over 335whp for 1.5 years, and over 380 for the last 5 months.

Still have decent comp in all 4. I think slug 4 is down 9psi from the rest; however, still in the "acceptable" range given by Subaru and also failry normal considering it's the "hot" cyl.

I say more than anything if stock its the maintenance, if not, it's the tune.
I just tuned a car with 165,000 miles went with a VF22 and it pulled like a mother and has been holding up well and another went with a 18g at 150k+.

As these cars get older i am tuning more and more high mileage cars and have yet to have a local's car fail yet due to mechanical error by shotty engineering. (minus the tranny and skipping teeth)

These aren't 1989 Cavaliers in other words where 100k miles are the mark of death.
