Reminds me of my days at my alma matar -- had an '88 300TE back in the day. @ 160,000 miles she could beat almost any takers stoplight to stoplight. Being made for America, it was probably more due to her troglodyte rear end and close gears than the 3.2 litre pouring 188 planet-starting torques @ 4400 revolutions using a ram air style intake and pushing the power to whichever rear wheel felt like filling the block with white smoke that day.
