Its so funny because everyone says dont get rid of it, yet one page back when asked WRX vs. STi, everyone always goes STi. I love my car but I really want to be able to take it to the track every now and again. Cant do that in my car...tranny wont handle it and brakes arent up to par.

I really dont want to get rid of it...

I tried to trade in my STi at Mastro but was told the value of the car would go down because of all the mods. They would have to buy the stock parts and convert the car back to stock in order to sell it. If not, they would wholesale it. It wasnt duable to make a deal unless I had 5k down.

Not sure if you have researched about the 07 STi, but they have the bad tune from the factory which causes the piston ringlands to crack (#4 piston primaraly). Some people on IWSTI have had issues with warranty with the dealer and SOA. Even with the car 100% stock. And being pre-owned, you dont know what the previous owner has done to the car or how much abuse it took. Just a thought.

The 08 STI are doing it more. with the #2 and #4

As one who owned an '03 WRX and now an '07 STI limited, I will say the limited is definitely worth the money. It comes down to your financial priorities and if the 6-spd / Brembos / LTD interior are all something you really wish you had on your sonic yellow bugeyes. Don't get me wrong here, I'm not necessarily saying the limited is like a completely different car....but it DOES fix any annoyances with the bugeyes--at least it did for me--more power, stout tranny, fantastic brakes, sharper handling, HID's....

I know there are those on the forums here that prefer the standard STI, but since you're considering the limited that tells me you rank stealth and subtle aggressive looks fairly high.

28K is a good deal on a limited, to actually answer your question.

tranny and brakes are the big issue here for me. I have leather and i could live without it. I like it but I can live without it.

What Ive thought about doing is waiting until my car is paid off and then buy an 04 STi. By then I should be able to get one pretty cheap. Then swap the drive train and brakes from the STi into my 03. Then just drive the STi as my daily and let the Sonic 03 sit in the garage.

Another thought is I could just save some cash and buy an old Porsche to track with and dont worry about tracking the Suby.
