I got hit by a drunk today

so my car was parked outside of my girlfriends house on the street. just as we were walking out her front door some idiot sideswiped the shit out of my car and continued to barrel down the sidewalk and pancaked a city sign. when he got out and we asked him what they hell he was doing, he asked me why he was stopped on the sidewalk. oh maybe because you decided to pass out while driving. then he said he was on medication and he had beer on the passenger seat.
the blow was hard enough to send my car 4ft sideways through the gutter and up onto the sidewalk
so much for going to the all we'll drive meet, i was just about to get my sidekirts and prodrive lip painted as well

while it sucks (a lot), now would be a good time to get those things painted for free (i.e. bring them to the paint shop with you when you go to get it repaired, let them know and they'll likely do it as part of the job).

and of course being christmas weekend his insurance company is off, oh well she stays parked in the garage till whenever now. i will definately be getting those extra parts painted when it gets done. i was going to do them last weekend so at least i didnt paint then and then they get all messed up 5 days later

he was written a citation. it was the 3rd one in 6 months. he's already had two for going 40+ in a 25.
i was just out looking at the damage and noticed my bent front rim as well as something broken in the front suspension. this could be a great excuse for some new wheels......

sucks, but it sounds like the way he was driving it could have been much worse. Glad to hear he actually stopped and didn't keep going
