you know that that a dog box is the way the gears are engages. Straight cut and helical are the way the gears are cut and made.

I would get a helical syncroed box myself its more of a replacement for a stock tranmission that should old any streetable powerlevel.

dogboxes (whether striaght cut or helical) are typically reserved for racing because the use of the clutch is not required you just slam the gear but they are loud, difficult to DD and from my understanding the dog engagements can wear out if used for daily driving.

anarchy you have a striaght cut syncro box. its not a dog engagement.

If you going to be spending $5k on a box, why continue with the synchros? Those will still wear out.

When I get my PPG box, it will be helical dogbox. I wont have anywhere near 400 whp so I need not worry about them breaking.

Its a personal preferrence. I want to have a nice DD for me I dont believe a dog engagement would be best.

I was just clearing up some comments since they were talking about dog engagement first then seemed to be linking the gear cut with dog engagement.

the best thing the OP can do is call Andrewtech and ask them questions to see which one would better suit his needs.
