damn, You didn't go to Chicago just to buy the car did you? Anyway, that will be a hell of a break in drive. I have owned 3 WRX's/STi ....well 4 including my gf's and the one WRX that I didn't break in properly, drove it hard from day one, that WRX spun a rod at 6k miles. The others were broke in properly and I never had a problem. IMO I would keep it under 4k rpm and not make any long trips the first 1000k miles or at least 500. But obviously you have to drive it home.......I would just let the car sit a couple times during the trip and let the seals and everything cool down, then go again for a while and stop and let her cool down.

Of course this is just my experience and my opinion. Good luck with the new STi.

that chick @ mastro had to have been a stripper before working there.... she came up to me and asked if i wanted to buy that white STi on the side of the building a few months ago, and i was like "maybe down the road sometime".... and she pulled the classic "well why not right now?" me and my friend laughed the whole way home.... i cant tell you how many times i've heard those words at Mons Venus.
