Give it a shot and do this yourself. It's not tough at all..

Im still waiting for the header to get here from Perrin and the gaskets to come in at the dealership. Thx for all the suggestions. Im new to Subie ownership. My other car is an 05 Vette with 452rwhp. It has heads, cam, valvetrain, ram air, headers back, ported and polished oil pump, ported intake, ramair and Hurst shifter; but is dull in normal driving and scary fast over 4500rpm.

ah, so the reason you went with headers first is becoming clear

are you getting it tuned? I would advise getting tuned immediately; I don't know how an exhaust change will affect an 08, but I assume it would be even more touchy than an 04-07.

If i would take my subaru anywhere, i would go to S&R performance.. They did an uego bung weld for me that was like god himself joined the pieces of metal. Perfect. They also diagnosed a small coolant leak i had at the same time. $50 out the door.

S&R For the win, but only if you must seek external help. I would at least try it yourself, there is like 6 bolts holding on the headers, and the rest is pie.

People on the forums here do good work too, i would trust them as well b/c this is a super easy install and most of them here do their own work.

I had S&R Performance do the install. It is going back on the 12th to be tuned by Scott Seigel (it has a Perrin Stage II Accessport map in it now). I'm going to put the Vette on the market. That will free up some cash to do more with the STi when I get the other car sold.
