This car was never able to be properly road-tuned due to the failed front O2 sensor. The tune is not "complete." Assuming that it's a very short check/fix I don't mind doing it. We spent a LONG time on this car already dealing with issues that were not created by myself or S&R. If it takes much time to finish now that it's mechanically correct, it will need to be paid for.
I just want to make sure that I'm upfront about the situation.
There is a reason that normally labor and tuning are billed by the hour. These flat-rate tunes end up really screwing the tuners and shops on the problem cars and only pay appropriately on the cars that go smoothly...
S&R is doing a great job improving the preparation for the tuning trips. The first trip had multiple cars that should have taken 3 hours to tune end up taking 8+

Has anyone yet figured out what the deal is with that 02 sensor code? The thing was swapped out numerous times to no avail -- supposedly no problems with the ECU harness...
What I find odd is that the cigarette adapter failed while you were tuning, Scott, yet all the fuses were OK when I checked them afterwards?
Anywho, I will most definitely vouch for the fact that you and S&R spent a lot of time with that car, as did I. So... by no means should anyone assume that Matt got a bad tune! Bad cold air intake maybe
Frank
BTW, keep coming here, Scott, so I don't have to drive my next STi to Atlanta!

That always happens, start charging hourly. Every tune I've hosted there is always a couple people that bring half assed cars or stuff that was thrown on over night or just random issues. Scott is absolutely right in that it screws the tuner and shop over and also screws the people getting tuned after you. Meanwhile the owner pays 2- 3 hours of tuning time for 8 hours of diagnosing and tuning

I hope thats not my case, my total bill was 2,750...I had the car at the shop for a turbo install and clutch install 3 weeks before you came down... Not my fault that they didnt hear an up pipe leak...Christ, ive had random HONDA kids tell me i have an exhaust leak, thats how obvious it is..
Just pointing this out if this was not only a rant towards matts car, but mine as well

It was not really towards your car, other than the fact that it was not my fault about your issues. S&R had to work long and hard on your car because of the UR issues...

just checkin... lol. BTW, darryl at UR is a dumb ass.. He said Top Speed was not a vendor of theres.. and you had no clue what you were talking about. Then i proceeded to tell him that It says right on their site topspeed was... at that moment he decided to give me a 70% refund towards the intercooler pipes (which i just took a tial bov instead of cash) lmao
why tune a car with an uppipe leak?
if the sound of the leak did not give a clue there was a problem, maybe the fact that it was spooling at 5200.

im not sure exactly the amount of hours spent on fixing my car, because i was not there. but my bill was more than $400 than what I planned for. So wether that was not enough still, im not sure, but that is almost double the cost of my original bill. That $400 is for making a cai a short ram intake, and putting clamps on the the intake to avoid collapsing. The diagnosing of the front 02 sensor came afterwards, never found out what really happened, and I still paid over $200 for a diagnostic that was never clear. Thank god I didnt go and buy a brand new ecu though. Not complaining to SR or Scott, but I definetely paid my dues. Still paying them actually, but for different reasons.
