Default Stolen subarus?

I was reading on the internet the other day that the wrx/sti are high up on the list of Florida stolen vehicles. Has this actually gone on? Mine is always in the garage and parked behind 2 rows of cars, so good luck getting mine lol.

Anyone heard of theft like that around the tampa area? I can't see how on earth someone would get away with stealing cars... vin's are all traceable and such, i guess i just don't get it. Whats the point ya know, just steal it to joyride or what? Do they actually take them and keep them or just run the piss out of it, then flee on foot lmao???

I had my c6 rims stolen off of my 98 ls1 a while back, they had runflat tires on them too, about 2k worth of tire/rim. I also had someone break into my cavalier, and dig around in it with out taking anything. What were they looking for? There was a gps sitting right on the window, they could have taken that but nope. They even searched the trunk.

The worse thing we have had happen is repetitive windows being busted out in our 04 silverado. Some jackass thinks its funny to break out windows so we put up a survaliance system with 2 cameras (one you see, one you dont) and they came back one more time and that was it. We caught them on tape but coudlnt' get a face, it was a skinny sized tall built male with a hooded sweatshirt. I know who did it but I have no proof other than circumstantial evidence.

Back in indiana, the worst problem i had was toilet paper on the trees. Is florida really that bad? Is spring hill safe? 5 years ago when i moved here things here were nicer. Spring hill looks run down now compared to the way it looked before. Makes me wonder. Everyone here still seems nice though, so it's prob ok...

05+ have immobilizers in the keys.

02-04 do not.

"nobody steals a tractor, it's a 5mph getaway" Seinfeld episode The Burning

lol

Regarding the keys, basically my 02 is open for rape. I was looking at it tonight, and it sure would be easy to get into. What kind of alarm system would you suggest I get for it? I like viper and DEI personally. I used to have a viper w/ dei interior radar... I'd like to hook up a alarm system is it ok to do it to a subaru?

I like this one:

Switch to fuel pump and ignition cylinder.

When out of car, make it so unless both are on the on position the car wont' get anywhere.

I leave a note in my car labeled "Open if you are stealing this car" inside the letter it says "have fun with it but make sure you total it! Burn it, dump it in a lake, flip it off a cliff, strip it down.......just make sure it isn't fixable or cannot be found. If your to pussy and your just joyriding then push the self destruct button I installed when your done.
