looks good but why was there need for custom piping?

for the reverse flow intercooler so the hot side stayed on the hot side of the car and cold pipe stayed on the cold side of the car. Just a guess.
Im guessing the factory mount turbo intercooler pipe was not setup to run the rotated setup
.
