Default fuel vapor delete mod

Ok, so I posted a thread at EGR Delete 02 WRX - NASIOC

it talked about how I broke the fuel vapor switch, similar to the one below:

Then somone posted a graphic about how the system works, and explained that I actually broke the switch.

I found some other threads where people had actually done this for a MOD, I don't know why but I guess it's a mod... Anyways, I did it to my car too! It threw code p0444

Here's the mod pic:

The car ran alright, but it experienced some hesitation I think due to crazy fuel mixtures and not being tuned. I put it back together, and added a nifty aircraft fuel line from our ultralight. It's nifty 80's neon green lol, but it's STRONG. Aircraft parts on a subaru, now that's sexy.

So after a couple of hours, and testing.. this mod is useless unless your tuned IMO, and will just make your car run like dog snaps. However, I would think that if I was tuned, I might see a .000001% hp/tq increase--- but here's the kicker

is the fuel vapor warm?? Isn't fuel vapor actually more explosive than the gas itself?? So by removing this, I actually lose horsepower regardless of tuning, because there is less explosive chemicals in the air mixture...

Anyone else mess with this or have experience??/

its called the purge control solenoid and valve its emissions bs... im removing mine right before i tune the valve cant handle high boost so it breaks and it turns into a constant boost leak

WOw.. your car is a beast if it's popping that thing off ~!

So what would the gains be to this other than your obvious one?? Is there actually HP gains or loss??

How does the fuel vapor play a roll? How much fuel vapor is actually being dumped? Is there enough to make a diference??

Also-- how does the ecu react to this and other CEL's?? Does it change mixtures to a default setting?? Or does it do a limp mode?

no gains really except if it leaks like mine

its just emissions bs instead of venting the vapors out it sends them to the intake manifold.... i took mine off and dindt get any cells but some people say they get them... i put mine back on because the car ran funny with it off without being tuned

leave that on. unless your that maybe 5% that run over 20++ pounds of boost on bigger turbos

So basically the only advantage to this is removing it because i have pressures caused by larger turbos--- my lil td04 doesn't make enough vacuum so there's really no need to do this, right??

awesome! good thing I could glue the broken parts back together--- so does the lack of this cause the ecu to run rich, lean, or some kind of limp mode??

Well i reinstalled it and took it for a test drive, and the car runs much better now. There is no more hesitation, and the car runs much better. I had questioned if it was my cai, or a combo of both. It turns out, I think, that it was lack of a purge system.

It was like night and day. So morale of the story, don't do this unless your tuned and have too big of a turbo that pops hoses of this system. If you are tuned, from information gathered above, it gains no hp but does not affect performance either. If you are running un-tuned with this modification-- you are likely to see less performance and the car run like crap. Mine hesitated like it was stuck every 1000 rpms or so. really crappy
