Most cars with decent auto trannies are faster than their manual counterparts. Tip Tronic in BMW, the DSG in the VWs and whatever Mitsu calls their version of the DSG, all faster than the 6-speeds.

Umm, if you stomp the gas in either car without hitting the paddles it shifts for you at redline. Which makes it an automatic. The evo is the only dual clutch non automatic, and thats only in sport mode.

no, an automatic is a completely different transmission.... DSG and SMG are fully manual gearboxes that have the throttle and clutch motions on upshifts and downshifts done by a computer.
you can pull an M3 transmission out of an SMG car and put it into a manual M3. You can't stick ANY automatic transmission into a manual car.

You're out of your mind. If the transmission shifts by itself, that makes it an automatic transmission. The DSG and SMG shift by themselves, therefore, they are automatic transmissions. They just also happen to respond to user input regarding shift timing.
