Why??
Why??
OK, so it was pretty much flooding on Siesta Key Beach, and I needed to get off the island... the only way was through some nasty flood waters. So I'm going along just fine slipping the clutch (so that the RPMS were high but car was out of boost so as not to make the intake a straw) and some asshat in an SUV decided to stop in the middle of the water. I honked, flashed my lights, and he FINALLY moves out of my way just as my car is starting to bog down... I get to a slightly dry spot, hit the gas to help clear the water out, and basically hit a puddle that looked really shallow but was in fact quite deep. So, my two fog light covers came off and got run over by the people behind me.
They are destroyed, and I need a really nice set to replace them
Ahhhh help

Ugh, sorry to read this Frank. At least the car itself is safe. I noted the flood waters were quite deep (especially coming out of the parking lot), but I've got some experience w/ deep water via my former PSM bugeye. I made the mistake with my '03 of driving in water up to the hood latch, but fortunately all I got was a wet back floor (came in thru the doors in the rear) and some debris in the exhaust (removed by Subaru for $75). As for new fog covers, either eBay like others are saying or just order them new to ensure they match your new bumper.

I lost one of mine on a little off-road excursion on the interstate. That dip was steeper than I thought and I tried to take it rally-style.
Anyways, they're cheap. I got my replacement from Subarugenuineparts.com for around $40. Probably could get it cheaper locally (cross-country ship, I was already ordering some stuff).

UPDATE: I'm going to the body shop that I had replace my bumper (Eldridge Auto Body on Clark Rd. in Sarasota). Basically, when they replaced my bumper, they re-used my old fog light covers, and I always noticed that the fit was a little bit loose -- much more so than on any STi I had seen. I'm going to see if they're willing to replace them as the fit was not that loose on my original bumper...
You can buy a single side for $40 I think at subarugenuineparts.com.
Good luck getting the body shop to replace them.
