Default Replacement Tires 06 STI

I am thinking of getting the Nitto INVO 225/45ZR-17 91W BLK to replace my stock Bridgestone 070s with 27K miles. Any thoughts or anyone know a good local place? Online the price is $115/ea.

Is price the main factor or are you looking at performance as well? I know many who have switched from the RE070's to the RE-01R's and loved them. Just remember if the replacement tire doesnt have a stiff sidewall like the RE070's, the handling feel will be alot different than what your used to(more squishy than firm).

I would like to keep similar performance / handling. From what I have read the INVO would be similar to the 070s. However if it were a bit less harsh that would be ok since it is my DD. If going to the track I would use other wheels and "R" tires.

I have read that INVOs are somewhat soft. The Azenis RT 615 seem a good choice. I enjoyed my Azenis Sports on my 2K A41.8TQ

Oh ok I have not read anything on the INVO's just drove another STI with the RE-01R's and was amazed how similar-if not better they were to the 070's. Well if they are only $115 thats a real good price so try them out? I know the Azenis 615s are good too so its up to you which one you wanna try.

the rt615s are good sticky tires, but forget about driving in the rain

best DD tire I have found are the bf goodrich g-force t/a kdw2s. Probably the best rain traction tire available, 300+ treadwear rating, and still pretty good grip

I switched from my bridgestones to kuhmos with run flat. They run just fine. It may perform a little worse but it's a lot cheaper than the Re 070's. You can also check nasioc forums. I believe some guy is selling some re 070's that are almost new for 400. If I needed new tires I would jump on that and he seems to be local to fl too.

Get some Wanli's!!!!! LOL

I know most people will flame me, but dollar for dollar I sware by those tires. They are a bit loud (road Noise), Dont last that long and really scream when you push them. But IMHO I think performance wise I was really amazied. I have run them on my old WRX and now running them on my RS (w/ GAB Race Suspension) and I couldnt have been happier.

I pay about 240.00 for 4 tires and they have never failed me. I was just out running the RS on some high speed tarmac turns and besides screaching like no ones business they pull right through the turn very stiff and never fall over.

Just my .02 cents. I know most people look at them as being cheap crap tires, but then again I know like 2 people who actully have ran them and they both love them and I know a ton of people who talk a ton of shit about them and they have never even seen a set in person. lol

I have the Azenis 615's and so does my fiance and two friends. None of us have had a single issue in the rain. *knock on wood*

I also ran the BFG Goodrich g-force t/a kdw2s and I personally wasn't a fan. And my friend felt the same.

For the price, I think the 615's are a great all around tire. But that's my opinion. Everyone has their own preference on tires.

I have heard / read that the BFG Goodrich g-force t/a kdw2s are loud.

Wrxgurl06, How many miles do you have on them?
