I like it. I like the new squared edge look... it makes my 06' look dated.

Aren't the new STI's supposed to be faster?

So far, every publication has the 08 being just a tad slower in the sprint and a little less precise around the track (autoweek, car & driver, road & track, motor trend all suggest the same thing). Faster was not Subaru's intention with this latest generaton STi... more "well rounded & civilized" was.

Great ride! IMO you lost little and gained much.

but i think the results are skewd just because of tire choices....

being able to run 18x9.5 rims with out having crazy mods to do so is very impressive for a suby, as well as having double wishbone suspension in the rear now...

Great car, glad you like it

I like it...time for some 295's

I still would love to get an 08 and start ripping into it. Its a whole new project...so I'll save my money for the new diesel's in 2010.

agreed about being effected but not skewed... just a fact that that the heaver wheel will indeed slow it down in the sprint and the softer spring rates will slow it down around the track.

still a great ride with great potential

Thank you everyone for your opinions.

People have been asking for a comparison and here is mine.

Overall I am way happier with the 08 (and its not because I just bought it). The ride is so so so so much more comfortable. The seats are to die for!! When I bought my Fiance her 08' WRX I was super jelious of her seats, but now I can say these are even better.

The ride is much more smoother and to me doesnt feel like I have lost much in handling. I took it out lastnight and went around some curves pretty quick and I actully felt more confident (could have been the tires, my 07' was balding).

The interior I wasnt to sure about until I drove in it at night. The fact that everythign is gray or black is awesome at night and all the interior lights are red. Its funny, there are tons of threads on how people can change all the interior lights to red and paint the trim and headboard black. Now it comes like that (Makes you think, maybe subaru is listening to its fans). When you open the doors the foot area is lit up red also and that is a really nice accent, along with the STi sill plates.

The engine looks pretty much the same, the air filter is much easier to change now and comes with a cotton filter stock. The intercooler is gigantic. It is lacking the STi logo but thats ok.

I havent even fully began to understand the VDC, DCCD, SI-DRIVE and TCS systems yet. I have a full chart to show you what to set each system to and what the outcome will be. I will play with this next time it rains out

The Navigation is awesome.. The fact that it tells you when to change/check oil, fluids, tire and maintenance is awesome. It also has some built in performance gauges. Would have been cool if they had more to choose from but it was great. The audio system kicks my 07's ass!!! I do think the actula navigation fuctions get a little confusing, but it may be me just use to the Pioneer unit I had.

As for power... Well its tuff to tell... Its been a while since my 07' was stock so I cant to much compare. I know my 07' stumbled real bad before Snowman fixed it and the 08' does not. It seems like my 07' had more tq. but I had a lot done to it. Once I start playing with the 08' im sure I can make a true statement on this.

For being stock she is quick though. Im not complaing yet lol. I only have 52 miles on her (11 when I picked her up) so I cant say I know to much. I love having a wagon and so far it has been turning heads. I got a few thumbs up yesterday.

The overall looks to me are much better also. The rims really set the car off. I am not someone who ever liked big rims (16" is fine) but the 18" wheels really make teh car look good and proportinal (sp?). At this time I couldnt be happier and I look forward to bringing it out and showing her off at some local meets.

If anyone has any specific questions or comparisons let me know, I just got off work and I didint want to right a 2 page review on the car.

awesome, i really like the 08 sti. i would have to agree on the red tint for the tails, the photoshopped car i saw with red tails looked awesome. Other than that, loving the car. Been to mastro like 3 or 4 times this past week and each time I can't stop going over to look at the STI
