Proper spring with no controller and a proper tune is best...

Like SAFCs, controllers are band-aids.

Joe, its the fear of PTFB that the MBC can induce. With a tune it is somewhat allievated as the OL/CL transition is changed. The only reason to get a MBC is to overcome the capabilites of the stock BCS/WG. By using a $35 GMBCS (or an overpriced alternative) you can do the same thing. Try looking at it as a different way to skin a cat.

An AVCR is a different ball of wax, a MBC will not be able to do gear specific boost. Sure a MBC equipped car wil make just as much power on a Dyno in 4th, but how is it gonna react in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc....
Thats where the money spent on an AVCR will start paying off (esp on the non-DBW cars). The DBW's have teh capability get around this a little.

I run the Hallman mounted in the engine bay and it has been a very reliable piece. With the EWG, it holds 26 psi all the way to redline without a hick-up. It has been working as intended for a long time in my ride.

In my mind, it is the most reliable way to control boost. It is very sensative and give you lots of control.

I can tell you that i would take a hbc over an avc-r. Especially with any higher end setup. Im sure for just a local tune and other simple bolt on that the avc-r may do some justice. But when i switched to the hbc the boost is alot more consistant, never drops. And mine is also right in the cabin so adjustment is not a problem. But i have an avc-r for sale ha if you want it

I have a hallman mbc and to this date I havent had any issues... the reaction is alot faster on spool, my first through third gears are at 16psi, fourth at 18 and 5th and 6th at 20. And I'm running pig rich too after all these resets.

BTW, turbotrix tuned my car and the mbc was the way to go.
