3 pounds off is a lot with rotational weight... i ride bmx and using titanium spokes instead of steal takes off like 3 oz but it equals out to 1lb of rotation weight...

" It is true that rotational weight counts twice as much as non-rotational weight, it is also true that this rotational weight difference has its effect only under certain circumstances, like acceleration. While we are getting up to speed, lighter wheels will help us to accelerate more quickly, but once we reach our cruising speed, the weight difference has no added effect, as far as the spinning wheel is concerned"

the only thing i would be worried about is bad metal quality or manufacturing. If it isnt perfectly balanced it can cause problems.

be the guinea pig and let us know how it works out.

but personally, go with the 11 lbs. you wont be able to notice 15 much, especially once you get used to it.
