I am in sales and have all the NADA guides to see if you paid for an STi or a WRX.

If you bought an automatic, it is not an STi. Check your paperwork. If it says STi anywhere on it, then you may have a case.

I am sorry that the people on this forum were so rude to you. Most are nice people.

first things...HID's, brembo brakes, and of course a 6spd tranny...
everything else, like turbo, intake manifold, ic, trunk, gauge cluster, entire interior are parts that are often swapped into a wrx...

I managed to talk to the general manager about the situation. He told me that particular salesman is a new guy there and had not told him to pass it off as a real STi. They claim it was a mistake on their part and that they will take the car back and cancel the deal. If they actually follow through with it I will be surprised and happy. The people being rude on here do have a point, I should have read up a lot more before buying it. For the others that were freindly thanks for the offers for help and the answers I was looking for. I was also told by the manager that the car was bought at a wholesale auction and they thought it was a good car, but found out its just an Imprezza with some junkyard parts added to make it look like a WRX. Anyway, it looks like my problem is over.

It Sounds Like A Fake To Me!..my Bro Totaled His Sti And I Swapped The Turbo And Intercooler For My Stock Wrx Turbo And Intercooler Before The Insurance Company Could Come Get The Car So Im Pretty Sure Someone Else Could Have Done The Same To Any Other Sti Before Trading It In Or Selling It..shit Even If It Is A Wrx There Still Great Cars And Can Still Have Alot Of Power To Them!..goodluck With Everything Dude!..at Least Ur A Subaru Owner Now!!

 

OP if you did buy that car and this is a real post. You need to cut yourself.

 

Sounds like it could possibly have even been a RS.

 

I would sue them if the paperwork shows sti or if the vin has been altered.
