Default Help! Got a CEL...

I got a CEL tonight right when I turned on my car. I think it was P0170. I looked it up and it said "Engine running lean". Should I just clear the code and see if it comes back or is this something I should worry about and not drive the car until I have everything squared away?

did you change anything recently. Bad gas or change the place you get gas.
also check for any vacuum leaks after the maf.

if im not mistaken that code would be thrown if the ecu excedes the percentage that it can compensate to make the afrs hit its target of 14.7 during closed loop operation.

you dont have an intake without a protune?

The code specifically said engine running lean and that's it. I am running 93 gas, usually from Shell only. The mods I have are TBE, CAI, and AP Stage 2. I have had all these mods for over 20k with no issues. And I have nothing new on the car.

Was it the whole motor or just a certain bank. I know that people get one bank lean a lot, for varying reasons. When was the last time you replaced your fuel filter?

...yea first time I got that code (it was actually p0171, same problem) I changed my fuel filter and it was all fine...possibilities can also be a vacuum leak, check if there are any look...in my case, the twg hose was ripped a little and I replace it to fix it...or putting in cheaper gas (like my mom did accidentaly), but thats not it in your case...or a misfire in a bank...I suggest you type "p0170" in search in TR. ClubWRX.net, and in NASIOC...google might also work by putting "wrx p0170"...I hope you find a solution! ...

It didn't say. When I read the code it said P0171 and the book of codes said it was engine running lean. I have 28k on my car. Do you really think that would need to be changed already?

Thanks for everyone's responses so far.

Oh, and I cleared the code and drove it to work (about 11 miles round trip). Everything seems to be running fine and the CEL hasn't come back.
